Frequently asked questions
Here are some questions I am frequently asked about how I work as a Holistic Health Coach.

"What can a Health Coach do?"
A Holistic Health Coach is trained in natural nutrition and fitness, has a good understanding of the body functions and coaching tools at hand to support a client resolving personal problems allowing them to thrive.

A Health Coach works to understand the health conditions of clients and works with individuals and groups using a client-centred approach to guide and empower them to achieve their wellness goals.

A Health Coach is able to:
-
Give advice on an individuals’ diet
-
Offer advice and guidance on food combinations
-
Guide clients on various cleansing and detoxification methods
-
Educate individuals or groups
-
Offer advice in sorting out problems in families or business

"What does a personalised plan and actions include?"
A plan will include:

-
Actions to be taken
-
Phased protocol (depending on your package)
-
Supporting information
Your plan will be catered to you, your goals, and your needs. Over our time working together we can build on these actions at a pace that works for you.

Aims will be decided during our sessions. A holistic health coach takes a very client-led approach, meaning any aims or health goals are very much determined by you as the client and what you want to achieve.
Actions could be habits to practice that support your sleep, diet, hormones, encourage movement, detoxification.

Supporting information could be recipes, food inspiration, books, podcasts, blogs and more.

"How does Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA) work?"
A HTMA is a functional test that uses a small amount of hair (approximately 1 tsp full) to look at your bio-individuality on a cellular level, looking at your body’s mineral levels, heavy metals and metabolic type.
Once booked in with me, I will send your HTMA via first class post. Taking a hair sample involves cutting your hair from the crown, as close to the scalp as possible.

Due to the location, you will not notice any hair missing. You will receive all instructions in with the test and must ensure that hair cannot have been coloured in the last 4-8 weeks.
Once you send your sample off in the pre-paid post, the process will take up to 21 days to receive your results with a full evaluation by a qualified Nutritional Therapist.
Within a week of receiving your results you will have a consultation with me, where we deep dive into your health goals, symptoms, and analysis. In this session we will co-create a wellness plan to implement changes in relation to your results.

“Why is a Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA) useful?”
Minerals are the foundations of our health and are required for every function in the body.
A simple HMTA can determine imbalances, metabolic rate, and energy levels, how your body copes with stress, and if your food and lifestyle choices are working for you.

Even if clients do not feel stressed, what is going in their body on a cellular level can tell a different story. Chronic stress is the root of all disease, stress not only depletes minerals, but shuts down the digestive system leading to further disruption of nutrient absorption.

A HMTA is not a method to diagnose disease but rather a useful screening tool. Unlike other tests, a hair mineral analysis shows the body’s mineral status for the last 90 days (3 months) rather than a snapshot of one moment in time.

A hair sample shows the mineral status inside the cell. Hair is made up of clusters of specialised cells that make up the hair follicle. During the growth phase the hair is exposed to the internal environment such as blood, lymph, and extra-cellular fluids giving insight to crucial minerals like magnesium, potassium, sodium, zinc, calcium, and copper.

The test is non-invasive and extremely accurate.
